Perched in Hong Kong, The Wavescape is a 2,200-square-foot apartment that reimagines contemporary living through the warmth of Indian craftsmanship and the serenity of uninterrupted ocean views. Designed for a young couple, the home unifies two adjoining apartments into a single, fluid residence—one that balances cultural nuance with comfort, versatility, and a strong sense of identity.

The journey begins at the entrance, where a lattice-patterned screen casts delicate, shifting shadows that introduce a mood of quiet intrigue. This thoughtfully designed screen conceals the doors to the kitchen, utility, and den, while also forming a serene niche for prayer. It sets the tone for the design language that follows—one where functionality, detail, and artistry coexist seamlessly.

The living room emerges as the heart of the home, anchored by full-height windows framing sweeping ocean vistas. The layout accommodates two distinct seating zones that encourage both intimate conversations and lively gatherings. A ceiling wrapped in 3D Moooi wallpaper adds sculptural depth without the need for false layers, while surface-mounted lights ensure openness and clarity. When required, a roll-down screen and projector quietly convert the space into a home theater.

The dining area exudes boldness and warmth in equal measure. A 14-foot black-stained Burma teak table commands the space, complemented by chairs sculpted to resemble elephant trunks—an ode to craftsmanship and storytelling. A bespoke light fixture by Aditi Anuj lends a soft, ambient glow, while custom-cut stone flooring with intricate patterns ties the open spaces together with subtle sophistication. Muted-toned furniture and Jaipur Rugs bring a tactile softness that grounds the interiors.

The private spaces are designed to reflect both simplicity and personality. The master suite is calm and refined, featuring walnut flooring, gentle ceiling curves, and marble lights by Rooshad Shroff. In contrast, the children’s room bursts with playful charm, complete with a scribble wall, jungle-themed wallpaper, and whimsical decor. The den is conceived as a multi-functional space—shifting effortlessly from yoga zone to gaming lounge to relaxed retreat. The guest bedroom incorporates a Murphy bed, making smart use of space without compromising comfort.

The Wavescape stands as a home where refined elegance, cultural roots, and everyday functionality converge, creating a residence that is deeply personal, warm, and timeless.
