The site office blends vernacular charm with modern functionality, using local materials, exposed timber, woven textures, and handcrafted lighting. Interiors transition from formal meeting areas to relaxed seating, while a courtyard with charpais extends the narrative outdoors—creating a warm, authentic, and grounded environment rooted in local craftsmanship and natural surroundings.
About the project
The site office design celebrates simplicity, authenticity, and a deep connection to its regional context, embracing locally sourced materials and vernacular aesthetics. Rooted in the natural surroundings, the space strikes a harmonious balance between functionality and warmth, providing an environment that is both inspiring and grounded for meetings, discussions, and collaborative work.
Exposed wooden rafters, textured plastered walls, and earthy tones establish a rustic ambience, allowing the architecture to speak of honesty and material authenticity. The tactile quality of the space is enhanced through handcrafted lighting, cane and wood furniture, and woven textures that echo local craftsmanship. These elements not only bring visual interest but also create a sensory experience that is simultaneously comforting and elegant.
The interior layout is carefully curated to facilitate both formal and informal interactions. A central meeting area serves as the heart of the space, seamlessly transitioning into relaxed seating corners designed for casual discussion or reflection. The open, flowing arrangement encourages engagement while allowing moments of quiet, personal focus.
Outdoors, the courtyard continues the narrative of rooted simplicity. Traditional charpais, potted plants, and natural landscaping create communal pause points, encouraging visitors and staff to connect with the environment and one another. This integration of interior and exterior spaces reinforces the design’s commitment to authenticity, material honesty, and cultural resonance.
Overall, the site office embodies a dialogue between modern functionality and vernacular tradition. Every architectural and interior detail—from lime-textured walls to handwoven finishes—tells a story of grounded sophistication. The project highlights how thoughtful use of local materials, crafts, and design principles can transform a workplace into a space that nurtures creativity, connection, and a sense of belonging.
