Project Name: Burdy's

Area: 1200 SQFT

Burdy’s represents an urban reinterpretation of the classic chicken rotisserie, envisioned as an approachable yet vibrant hospitality environment that bridges nostalgia with a fresh contemporary sensibility. The design draws inspiration from retro popular culture—spaces that felt lively, unpretentious, and inherently social—while translating those familiar cues into a spatial language that is modern, cohesive, and thoughtfully composed. The result is an atmosphere that encourages spontaneity, interaction, and a sense of easy familiarity among guests of all ages.

At the core of the interior palette, red glazed tiles serve as the defining visual anchor. Their bold, saturated tone introduces rhythm and intensity, creating a backdrop that embodies the brand’s energetic personality. This is balanced thoughtfully by terrazzo flooring and muted wall finishes, which offer contrast and grounding, ensuring the space remains visually legible and comfortable rather than overwhelming. These materials work in harmony to produce an environment that feels dynamic yet composed—an equilibrium between playfulness and restraint that reflects the brand’s identity.

One of the central experiential gestures of the project is transparency. The open kitchen, prominently positioned at the forefront, transforms the preparation of food from a hidden process into an engaging, visible act. Flames, movement, aroma, and craft become part of the spatial theater, inviting guests to observe and participate, even if just through gaze and presence. This openness also extends outward, allowing visual connections with the street and drawing the public into the narrative of the space, enhancing accessibility and approachability.

Quirky signage, sculptural light fixtures, and a mix of eclectic seating styles layer character and familiarity, creating an environment that feels warm, human, and culturally expressive. Each element is deliberately chosen to evoke a sense of comfort while signaling a contemporary identity that is bold and confident, yet still welcoming.

Ultimately, Burdy’s is a celebration of shared moments—a place where design, food, and social interaction converge seamlessly. It transforms the humble act of dining into an energized, communal experience, one that resonates with memory, personality, and a lasting sense of belonging.
