Palais Royale’s Modern-Minimalist Apartment

This residence in Mumbai’s iconic Palais Royale is conceived as an oasis of quiet sophistication, where modern minimalism is elevated through thoughtful detailing and timeless luxury. Spanning an expansive layout, the apartment makes the most of its asymmetric, hexagonal geometry — a structural challenge that ultimately becomes the foundation for its distinctive character. Every angle, opening, and axis is choreographed to frame uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea and the city skyline, allowing the home to feel both elevated and deeply grounded in its context.

The interiors unfold through a calm, harmonious palette, anchored by Tempest White marble that lends a soft luminosity throughout the day. Limewashed walls introduce warmth and tactility, while fluted veneers bring rhythm and depth to vertical surfaces. Brass detailing is used with restraint and precision, subtly softening transitions and accentuating thresholds without overwhelming the space. Each material is chosen for its ability to age gracefully, reinforcing the home’s timeless sensibility.

Furniture selections blend global craftsmanship with sculptural presence. Bespoke pieces — customised for scale, comfort, and visual clarity — serve as functional art, shaping each room with understated elegance. Comprising 11 distinct zones — including private suites, a family lounge, study, temple, and outdoor deck — the home is planned as a fluid journey rather than compartmentalized rooms. Each space maintains its own identity yet remains connected through consistent materiality and visual softness.
