About the Project
Set amidst the ridges and valleys of central-western Maharashtra, this corporate retreat is envisioned as a destination-scale sanctuary for restoration, focus, and leadership exchange. The design prioritizes a low-density, landscape-sensitive approach, ensuring minimal disruption to the semi-arid terrain while establishing a contemporary, climate-responsive architectural language.
The retreat comprises ten accommodation clusters, each housing eight guests with shared lounges and kitchenettes, seamlessly integrated into the rolling topography. Core facilities—including a training hall, wellness centre, dining pavilion, amphitheatre, gym, and sports courts—are arranged to balance active engagement with quiet reflection. Every space is carefully oriented to capture views, maximize natural light, and promote intuitive circulation, reinforcing the retreat’s ethos of clarity and purpose.
Interiors extend the architectural intent with a restrained, warm palette. Rough basalt, honed black stone, exposed timber, and glass create spaces that are both refined and resilient, establishing a strong dialogue with the surrounding landscape. The five-bedroom farmhouse, positioned at the site’s head, mirrors this spatial logic, featuring open living zones, deep overhangs, and floor-to-ceiling views. Guest clusters maintain a modular approach, ensuring privacy, comfort, and scalability for both personal and corporate use.
Furniture and finishes are bespoke yet restrained, balancing polished and raw textures to create tactile, engaging environments. Social and shared spaces—dining halls, conference rooms, wellness areas, and libraries—echo this language, emphasizing warm light, material richness, and landscape connectivity. Sustainability is foundational, with solar integration, water conservation, and low-energy systems embedded in both design and function.
This retreat exemplifies how high-end design can harmonize with rural settings. The project demonstrates that contemporary architecture, when rooted in context, climate, and material logic, can deliver immersive experiences that are simultaneously elegant, resilient, and meaningful. The design offers a refined, purposeful environment where corporate teams can convene, reflect, and grow—grounded in landscape, elevated by architecture, and defined by thoughtful spatial planning.
