About the Project

This resort in Kasauli is envisioned as a harmonious retreat where luxury and nature are woven together within the tranquil setting of the pine forests and the gently sloping Himalayan terrain. The design philosophy prioritizes sensitivity to the landscape, ensuring that the built environment settles into the land rather than overriding it. The architectural language draws from natural materials that belong to the region—locally sourced stone, seasoned wood, and expanses of glass that open toward panoramic views. These elements are used in ways that create both warmth and visual transparency, allowing the surrounding forest and mountains to remain ever-present.

The master plan is structured as a collection of private villas and cottages, each nestled within its own pocket of greenery to ensure solitude and uninterrupted vistas. These accommodations are positioned to follow the natural contours of the hillside, minimizing excavation and preserving existing vegetation. The interiors maintain a calm, tactile palette where textures take precedence over ornamentation, creating spaces that feel grounded, still, and connected to nature.

Wellness forms the essence of the guest experience. The resort incorporates a spa, yoga pavilion, gym, and an infinity-edge pool, each oriented to capture the shifting light and changing moods of the surrounding hills. These facilities encourage slow, restorative rhythms—morning meditation in filtered forest light, spa therapies informed by regional herbal traditions, and evening swims under an open sky. Communal zones like the restaurant, café deck, and outdoor seating terraces are positioned to foster social interaction while maintaining a sense of openness and privacy. These spaces offer framed views of pine canopies, distant valleys, and mist-laden horizons, reinforcing the feeling of being immersed in nature.

Sustainability is embedded deeply into the project. Passive solar design, cross-ventilation strategies, and carefully shaded facades maintain thermal comfort without excessive energy use. Rainwater harvesting systems, native landscaping, and permeable pathways support ecological resilience. The resort’s planning and material choices reflect a commitment to responsible luxury—where environmental care enhances rather than restricts the guest experience.

Overall, the resort is conceived as a sanctuary for retreat, reflection, and rejuvenation. It aligns with the ecological and cultural character of Himachal while offering an elevated, poetic experience of the mountains—quiet, timeless, and deeply connected to place.
