Studio Built Environment

A luxury hillside retreat designed to appear as if floating within the forest. Triangular forms rest lightly on slender colored-concrete columns, preserving the natural terrain and blending with tree trunks. The architecture minimizes impact, amplifies landscape presence, and creates a tranquil, immersive experience where nature remains the central voice.

About the Project

Tree Voice Resort is envisioned as a luxury hillside retreat that gently immerses itself within the forest rather than imposing upon it. The central idea is to create architecture that floats, allowing nature to remain the primary experience. The resort includes a clubhouse, a hotel, and a series of cottages, all conceived as distinct yet harmonious elements arranged across the contours of the slope. Their triangular forms are inspired by the geometry of natural branching systems and mountain silhouettes, giving the built environment an inherent sense of belonging to its surroundings.

A key design principle was to respect and preserve the natural terrain. Instead of large cut-and-fill construction that alters the hillside, the structures are elevated on multiple slender columns, creating minimal disturbance to the ground. These fine supports make only light contact with the landscape, allowing natural drainage patterns, vegetation, and wildlife movement to remain uninterrupted. The architecture appears to hover, enhancing the sensory experience of being in the treetops.

The columns are crafted in colored concrete with a brutalist texture, intentionally referencing the vertical rhythm and tactile quality of tree trunks. This material choice softens the distinction between built and natural, allowing the structures to visually recede into the forest. The cottages and hotel units are designed to offer expansive views, privacy, and a sense of quiet immersion—where glass walls, outdoor decks, and framed vistas make nature feel like an immediate companion.

The clubhouse forms the social heart of the resort. It opens outward to the landscape, encouraging collective gatherings while maintaining a contemplative atmosphere. Woven pathways and suspended walkways connect various programmatic elements, promoting slow, mindful movement through the forest canopy.

Sustainability is embedded not as an add-on, but as a guiding ethic. Landscape preservation, low-impact foundations, passive cooling, the use of local materials, and environmentally sensitive construction techniques ensure the project remains aligned with the ecology of the site.

Tree Voice Resort does not merely sit in the forest—it listens to it. The architecture amplifies the presence of the trees, the terrain, and the light, creating a retreat where luxury is defined by stillness, sensitivity, and connection to nature.
