About the Project
Spanning 950 sq. ft., The Summer House is more than just a name—it’s a feeling. Conceptualized as a sanctuary where modern comfort meets earthy calm, this residence is tailored for a professional seeking peaceful respite from city life. The design creates an emotional bridge to nature and family, with every element curated to evoke a summer getaway all year round.
The moment you step into the living room, you're greeted by sunlit warmth reflected in soft wood flooring and a bold yellow couch that radiates joy. A distinctive overhead lamp and an earthy tiled column add a layer of eclectic character. Just beyond the living room lies an open terrace paved with vibrant yellow tiles and a cozy outdoor seating arrangement, perfect for monsoon chai sessions or weekend brunches.
Adjacent to this cheerful space is a charming reading corner framed by tropical wall art, located beside the breakfast counter. On the other side of the passage is a low-seating dining space, unique in concept and wrapped in quirky fabrics. A wall of nostalgic family photographs reinforces the house's central theme: comfort rooted in connection.
The bedrooms are emotional extensions of this warmth. The guest bedroom takes on a tropical palette, with deep green moldings, a neutral backdrop, and oak-finished wardrobes offering a calming ambiance. In the master bedroom, a brick-clad feature wall, vertical wooden panels, and louvered wardrobe shutters come together in rustic harmony, lending an authentic, retro-vernacular vibe.
At the core of this home is material storytelling. Wooden flooring runs throughout, grounding the interiors in a tactile sense of calm. Accents like patterned tiles, cane, oak textures, and warm lighting create an immersive spatial experience—like a serene summer afternoon bottled in bricks and beams.
The Summer House is not just a design; it’s a memory-in-the-making—a quiet, grounded space that invites slowness, reflection, and joy.
