Nestled in the picturesque Kangra Valley of Palampur, Takri Natives’ Kitchen offers an authentic taste of Himachal's cultural heart. This traditional ethnic restaurant celebrates the region’s staple meal, “Dham,” in a space that reflects the area's deep-rooted values and architectural heritage. Situated along the main highway connecting Dharamshala to Palampur, the restaurant blends rustic charm with modern comfort, creating an inviting retreat for both locals and visitors.

The design draws inspiration from the vernacular architecture of the region, with a strong emphasis on locally sourced materials like slate and wood. The 450 mm thick slate walls, chosen for their insulation properties, not only provide a natural shield from the cold but also block out noise from the busy highway. These walls, along with mud finishes and natural textures, create an earthy atmosphere that transports guests to a bygone era where tradition and hospitality were at the forefront.

Upstairs, guests can enjoy a relaxed dining experience with breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Range, framed by large windows that bring the outdoors in. A dedicated space showcases local arts and crafts, and visitors can explore the region’s rich culture through curated books and exhibitions. Skylights on the roof create a seamless connection between the indoor spaces and the surrounding natural beauty, further enhancing the experience.
