At the heart of the firm’s success are its dynamic co-founders. Ar. Amrita Jena, the Principal Architect, leads the design narrative with a focus on blending contemporary aesthetics with local context and functionality. Her ability to craft spaces that inspire productivity while reflecting cultural nuances has earned her a place among the Top 10 Women Architects in India. Meanwhile, Ar. Akshaya Kapoor, the Business Head, brings strategic leadership and operational excellence, ensuring seamless project delivery and strong client relations. Once dark and closed-off, this space is now a luxurious, light-filled retreat - Club Lounge Crowne Plaza by Furnish ME Architects is a Top 6 finalist at VOX Architecture Ideas 2024.

Located within one of the city’s premier hospitality destinations, the Crowne Plaza Club Lounge was previously cloaked in heavy wood veneers, dark tones, and a dated layout that no longer aligned with the expectations of international travelers. Furnish ME Architects took on the challenge of transforming this uninspiring space into a bright, elegant, and modern lounge that could rival top-tier clubs across the globe.
The design team began by reworking the spatial flow to maximize natural light and enhance ventilation. By eliminating visual clutter and restructuring the interior layout, they successfully opened up the lounge to feel more expansive and welcoming. A light, neutral color palette featuring soft beiges, off-whites, and warm greys was used to establish a calming yet sophisticated tone throughout the space.
Premium materials—ranging from finely upholstered seating to reflective polished surfaces—contributed to an elevated atmosphere while also supporting the project’s photogenic appeal. Strategic lighting design played a pivotal role, ensuring that every corner of the lounge felt fresh and inviting without compromising the sense of intimacy required for private dining and exclusive gatherings.
The result is a transformed environment that balances international luxury with local charm. The new Crowne Plaza Club Lounge is not just a place to unwind—it’s a space to be seen in, designed with both comfort and aesthetics in mind. The positive guest feedback reflects the success of this renovation, celebrating its chic atmosphere and Instagram-worthy interiors.
