About the Project
Grid Pavilion, the newest destination in the Eat Punjab restaurant chain, is not just a place to eat—it’s an experience that celebrates regional identity through design. Located in an urban setting yet deeply inspired by traditional craftsmanship, this restaurant brings together material richness, spatial storytelling, and sensory warmth.
Designed by Compartment S4, a practice known for its human-centered and detail-driven interiors, Grid Pavilion strikes the delicate balance between sophistication and soul. Every inch of the space is curated to connect diners not just with food, but with culture, memory, and mood.
A Thoughtful Layout with Textural Layers
The layout is elegantly zoned into three distinct areas, each offering a unique dining vibe. A communal area with a continuous deep green sofa offers a social, lounge-like atmosphere. A more intimate zone features a dropped ceiling and softer lighting, perfect for private gatherings. And at the heart of the space, a striking central wooden table outlined with yellow Jaisalmer stone becomes the anchor, crowned by a custom wooden light fixture that evokes a night sky full of stars.
Materials do the storytelling here. Terrazzo flooring, ribbed teak wood paneling, and mustard yellow piccolo tiles are balanced with richly upholstered forest green sofas. The harmony between warm and cool tones adds a sense of refined comfort—the kind that elevates the dining experience without overpowering it.
Celebrating Punjab Through Craft
One of the most distinctive aspects of Grid Pavilion is how it subtly celebrates Punjab’s design heritage. The walls are adorned with artwork inspired by traditional textile crafts, offering an artful homage to the region's roots. Lighting is precisely tuned—not just to illuminate—but to enhance textures, materials, and spatial rhythm.
While the restaurant maintains visual continuity with other Eat Punjab locations, this space stands apart in its nuanced design vocabulary. It’s a space that honors legacy while confidently stepping into the present.
Conclusion: A Pavilion of Taste, Texture, and Thought
Grid Pavilion is more than a restaurant. It’s a curated experience, where lighting, layout, materiality, and memory converge into something truly memorable. A space where dining becomes a dialogue—with the food, with the past, and with those who share the table.
It represents the very best of what modern Indian hospitality design can be: intimate, layered, and deeply rooted.
