About the Project
Camo is a 10,000 sq. ft. fine-dining RestoBar in Noida that embodies the concept of architectural camouflage, where built forms seamlessly blend with landscape, materiality, and culinary storytelling. The design focuses on creating an environment that feels simultaneously grounded, immersive, and subtly dramatic, allowing architecture and gastronomy to converge into a holistic experience.
The spatial organization revolves around two angular volumes mirrored across a central courtyard, establishing a rhythm of symmetry, contrast, and discovery. This courtyard becomes the soul of the project, offering a layered journey through light, material, and movement. A wrapped angular staircase and strategically placed pockets of natural illumination guide guests intuitively, making circulation feel organic, fluid, and choreographed without imposing rigidity. The courtyard acts as both a visual anchor and a connective tissue, linking different dining experiences while encouraging exploration and interaction.
The design draws inspiration from the earthy modesty of Turkish bazaars and the tactile warmth of Indian tandoor-led cuisine. The material palette reinforces this dual inspiration, combining Mediterranean lime clay plaster, dark terracotta bricks, cobbled textures, and natural stone to create an elevated yet grounded atmosphere. Each material is treated with care, producing a harmonious layering of textures that invites tactile and visual engagement.
One of the volumes houses casual seating and a sculptural black cobble bar, providing a relaxed yet visually striking environment for informal gatherings. The other volume opens into a pyramid-roofed dining hall, bathed in natural light from a central skylight, offering an elevated, serene, and contemplative dining experience. A bridge overlooking the courtyard connects these two volumes, reinforcing the concept of choice, discovery, and interconnectedness within the space.
Together, the architecture and interiors form a cohesive, immersive retreat. Every element — from angular forms and materiality to lighting and circulation — works in unison to dissolve the boundaries between structure and atmosphere. The resulting space is warm, timeless, and intimate, yet quietly dramatic, offering a dining experience that is as much about the journey and ambiance as it is about food. Camo ultimately demonstrates how thoughtful architectural and spatial strategies can transform a restaurant into a narrative-driven, atmospheric environment where guests feel fully engaged, welcomed, and at ease.
