Vatican Bar in Pune: A Unique Sky-Lit Dining Experience Beneath the Trees

Drenched in natural light by day and starlit glow by night, this lush retreat in Koregaon Park blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors—Vatican: Bar & Kitchen by The Collective Works Studio is a finalist in the Interior Design – Restaurant & Lounge Bar category at the VOX Architecture Ideas 2024 competition.

Set within Pune’s urban hustle, Vatican reimagines indoor dining with an immersive "under-the-sky" experience, anchored by a stunning glass ceiling and a dense canopy of bushy trees overhead. The design doesn’t just invite nature in—it celebrates it. Patrons dine beneath filtered daylight and leafy silhouettes, surrounded by an atmosphere that feels both intimate and open.

The layout was carved sensitively around existing site features, turning natural obstacles into defining elements. Every touch—from the soft neutral palette to custom-crafted furniture—amplifies the sense of serenity, catering to diners of all ages.

Vatican is more than just a bar and kitchen; it’s a quiet revolution in spatial storytelling where glass, greenery, and gastronomy come together.
