SPAN Architects
Founded on July 15th, 2016, SPAN Architects is a multidisciplinary architecture and design studio based in Indore, India, born from the shared vision of three college friends—Anand, Arpit, and Pratik. With a common academic foundation from NIT Bhopal (Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology) and individual design sensibilities shaped by varied experiences, the trio established SPAN to bridge thoughtful architecture with cultural, contextual, and sustainable relevance.
The studio is driven by a philosophy that merges nature, aesthetics, rational design, and technical efficiency. One partner brings a sensitivity to nature and cultural integration, another emphasizes logic and aesthetic balance, while the third contributes expertise in logistics and large-scale project delivery. Together, they create a unique synergy that reflects in each project—whether it’s a private residence, commercial building, or landscape intervention.
SPAN’s work has been widely recognized, with accolades such as the Special Mention Award for ‘The Courtyard House’ at the Times of India – Architects Conclave 2019 and a listing among the Top 25 Architectural Firms of Indore by Rethinking The Future.
The firm’s ethos is rooted in a new-age vision—dynamic, sincere, and explorative. SPAN dives deep into design as a process of discovery, seeking beauty in form, space, material, and meaning. Its multidisciplinary team comprises skilled architects, interior designers, and engineers who collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and communities to deliver architecture that is innovative, responsive, and enduring.
From architectural and interior design to landscape and product development, SPAN maintains a constant pursuit of balance between functionality and expression. Their approach to every project—no matter the scale—is marked by trust, curiosity, and a shared journey between client and creator.
Crafted over 2.5 years and nestled within a tranquil gated township in Pune, The House of Linear Lines is a study in serenity. Designed with a vision of creating a neutral-toned sanctuary, this 3BHK residence opens up to expansive farmland views—an ever-changing canvas of nature that becomes part of daily life.
The project’s defining feature? Its restraint. The architecture makes no noise, yet speaks volumes. Beige dominates the interiors, not as an absence of color, but as a curated palette that elevates every texture, light pattern, and custom furniture detail. The travertine-clad façade paired with a bold elevation design immediately sets the tone—clean, linear, and commanding.
Inside, the double-height living room creates drama, countered by the calming palette that runs consistently through the space. The connection to the outdoors is effortless—terraces, glass walls, and landscaped gardens dissolve the line between built and unbuilt. It’s not just a home; it’s an immersive experience in mindful living.
Every design decision is rooted in purpose. Custom cabinetry, handpicked materials, and warm lighting ensure the home feels luxurious yet never loud. Spatial transitions are smooth and functional, allowing both social gathering and solitude in perfect harmony.
But perhaps the most remarkable part of this story is what the design earned—not just applause, but the Grand Prize at VOX Architecture Ideas 2024, which included a Mahindra XUV. The win is not just a recognition of aesthetics, but of thought, intent, and execution. This villa is proof that luxury doesn’t need to scream—it simply needs to be felt.
