Studio Deshi
Studio Deshi is an Ahmedabad-based multidisciplinary design practice co-founded by Devanshi Doshi and Shivam Vaidya, specializing in interior and furniture design. With a strong belief that “people have stories—spaces should too,” the studio approaches every project as a narrative waiting to unfold. Their work is defined by a research-driven process, a hands-on methodology, and a commitment to creating meaningful, expressive spaces that resonate deeply with their users.
Studio Deshi operates at the intersection of contemporary aesthetics and traditional heritage, cutting-edge technology and handcrafted detail, and disruptive creativity and human-centric thinking. This balance of dualities is not just a design strategy—it’s the essence of their storytelling ethos. Their portfolio reflects an ability to translate emotion, culture, and memory into spatial form, resulting in interiors that are timeless, tactile, and deeply personal.
As storytellers, dreamers, and space-makers, Studio Deshi continues to shape spaces that are not only visually compelling but also emotionally and experientially rich, crafting environments that reflect the unique identities and aspirations of those who inhabit them.
Area: 980 sq ft
Set within a modest footprint, Tranquil Symphony is designed for a family of four, spanning three generations. The brief was simple—“Simple, Clean, and Minimal”—but the result is a layered spatial narrative where Indian textures, materials, and craftsmanship quietly shine through a contemporary lens.
A Home That Breathes Calm and Character
Studio Deshi, led by Devanshi Doshi and Shivam Vaidya, is known for crafting homes that reflect everyday elegance. Here, their approach marries function with warmth. The apartment exudes modern Indian minimalism—white oak, cane, and curved forms weave seamlessly with clean-lined furniture, earthy colors, and custom details.
A unique highlight is the two-way pivot swing, which acts as both a design statement and a spatial tool. It subtly separates the formal living from the informal dining and balcony area—perfect for a quiet cup of chai in the afternoon light.
Where Tradition Meets Modern Utility
The living room features a Kangaroo chair and white oak sofa with cane detailing—a nod to both Scandinavian restraint and Modernist Indian design. Curved ceilings with indirect lighting soften transitions and stitch together the different zones within the home.
The kitchen’s bold chevron backsplash becomes a vibrant contrast to the apartment’s otherwise muted tones. Meanwhile, thoughtful materials like terracotta, light-toned wood, and natural greens evoke a sense of peace and continuity.
In the bedrooms, details like turned-wood knobs and cane inserts reflect subtle Gujarati references, creating an emotional anchor without visual clutter.
Small in Size, Large in Detail
Tranquil Symphony is a reminder that well-being doesn’t require excess—just thoughtful design. From the handpicked furnishings to the curve of the ceiling and the rhythm of light across each space, the home balances beauty and practicality with meditative poise.
Studio Deshi’s work often focuses on human-scaled, emotionally resonant interiors. Their ability to express culture through clean, contemporary forms has earned them recognition among India’s new wave of residential designers.
