This Gurugram Store Is a Gallery of Fabric, Texture, and Minimalism—All Woven into One Vision

Urvashi Kaur Flagship Store by Navya And A Quarter is the PLATINUM winning project in the Interior Design – Retail category at the VOX Architecture Ideas 2024 competition—a poetic ode to handcrafted luxury in a space that flows like fabric itself.

Project Name: Urvashi Kaur Flagship Store

Location: Gurugram, Haryana

Year: 2023

Area: 450 sq ft

Tucked into the curated alleys of 32nd Milestone in Gurugram, the 450 sq. ft. flagship store is a quiet revolution in retail design. Eschewing conventional retail cues, the space is imagined as a living gallery—a monochromatic, textural haven where simplicity meets soul.

The design, led by Navya Aggarwal of Navya And A Quarter, reflects the brand’s ethos of mindful luxury and artisanal detail. True to the studio’s philosophy, the spatial narrative avoids ornamentation in favor of tactile richness. Plaster-sculpted walls, floating metal frame rails, woven elements, and stone-veneered pedestals create a serene yet dynamic atmosphere that evolves with each curated collection.

The fitting room is dematerialized behind a muslin drape, revealing instead a ceiling installation by The Wicker Story that mimics free-form waves—mirroring the philosophy of slow fashion. Carefully sourced accents, including bespoke furniture by Navya and collaborations with Ravi Vazirani, Jaipur Rugs, and Morii Design, complete the immersive experience.

Navya And A Quarter is a holistic design studio founded in 2020, known for its blend of craft sensibilities and modern minimalism. With a multidisciplinary portfolio spanning retail, residential, hospitality, and exhibitions, the firm excels at creating warm, narrative-driven spaces that celebrate heritage in contemporary form. Their distinct design language—marked by intuitive layouts, rich materiality, and playful color restraint—has garnered recognition as one of the most exciting young voices in Indian design.

In this flagship store, the brand and studio merge seamlessly to tell a story of elegance, emotion, and evolution—without ever needing to raise their voice.
