Founded by George E. Ramapuram, Earthitects pioneers reverse urbanization through architecture rooted in nature, sustainability, and luxury. Inspired by the belief that “God is the greatest Architect,” the firm crafts timeless spaces like Stone Lodges in Wayanad—where design harmonizes with the land, creating soulful, nature-driven living experiences.
Tucked into the undulating hillsides of Wayanad, Kerala, Estate Aana Pana by Earthitects is an architectural ode to nature’s quiet grandeur. Spread across three levels, the 10,000 sq. ft. private residence embodies the studio’s guiding philosophy — to build around nature, not over it. Every element of its design celebrates the land it stands on, transforming the home into a harmonious extension of its surroundings rather than an intervention upon them.
Massive natural boulders have been seamlessly integrated into key living spaces such as the master bedroom, formal living area, bridge, and bath, allowing the architecture to coexist with the terrain. These raw, untouched rocks serve as sculptural focal points, grounding the interiors and echoing the Earthitects’ ethos of reverence for the land.
Materiality plays a central role in shaping the villa’s warm and grounded aesthetic. Locally sourced grey stone flooring, teak wood rafters, clay tiles, eucalyptus poles, and random-rubble walls blend rustic authenticity with understated luxury. The tactile charm of these natural finishes connects the inhabitants to the environment while ensuring sustainability and longevity.
One of the most captivating features of Estate Aana Pana is the Flow Seater — a bespoke seating element built around a rock within the living area, perfectly capturing the dialogue between structure and site. The Natural Oasis Washroom redefines bathing as a meditative ritual, with organic curves, a stone basin, and an interplay of light and shadow that evokes the essence of a forest glade. Thoughtfully placed mirrors and naturally twisted wooden poles enhance this connection, reflecting the wild beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Beyond its interiors, the residence opens into a series of experiences — panoramic views of the Western Ghats, cobblestone walkways shaded by foliage, and intimate outdoor dining by the pool. Each space feels like a chapter in a story told by the land itself.
At its core, Estate Aana Pana is not merely a home but an immersive retreat that invites its residents to reconnect, rediscover, and relax. Guided by nature’s timeless rhythm, it redefines luxury as serenity — an architecture where every stone, tree, and beam of light whispers harmony.
