The Bangalore Experience Centre transforms lighting into a lived experience, guiding visitors through cafés, homes, galleries, and retail spaces. Using skylights, sunroofs, and French windows, combined with tactile lime-washed materials and curved forms, it demonstrates how daylight-simulating solutions enhance wellbeing, comfort, and productivity across residential, commercial, and hospitality environments.

Project Name: Sunrooof Experience Center

The flagship Experience Centre in Bangalore is conceived as a journey where light itself becomes the narrative. Designed to showcase innovative daylight-simulating lighting, the centre immerses visitors in real-life environments—residential, retail, hospitality, and office—demonstrating how thoughtfully orchestrated illumination can enhance wellbeing, productivity, and comfort.

Under the guiding concept of “Light as Experience”, the design choreographs a path from glimpses of daylight to fully immersive spaces. At the heart of the centre is a café positioned under a full sunroof, serving as the live hero of the experience. Visitors arrive through a French-windowed entry that offers a preview of what lies within, moving sequentially through a reception, gallery, and green corridor before encountering domestic vignettes—living, dining, and kitchen areas—culminating in a clothing showroom that illustrates commercial versatility.

Zoning carefully separates customer and employee flows, with offices, meeting rooms, pantry, and utilities discretely tucked at the rear. Light strategies are tailored to each zone: an L-shaped skylight brightens the entry, a narrow corridor skylight creates intimacy, a sloped kitchen skylight defines culinary space, and the café sunroof delivers a dramatic sunlit environment. Large French windows frame views and encourage visual connection with the outdoors.

Materiality reinforces the experiential narrative. Lime-washed walls provide tactile warmth, soft arches and curved junctions guide movement, and retro details subtly embed brand identity throughout the journey. Each spatial vignette communicates the versatility of light as both a functional and emotive tool, blending aesthetics with purpose.

Ultimately, the Experience Centre is more than a showroom—it is an educational, sensory, and inspirational environment. By integrating light, materiality, and sequence, visitors are invited to understand lighting not as a mere product, but as a lifestyle solution capable of transforming everyday spaces. The centre embodies how design and technology can converge to create immersive, human-centric experiences that resonate long after one leaves the building.
