Located in the heart of paradise at The St. Regis Maldives, T.Pan is a teppanyaki restaurant that fuses performance, cuisine, and ambiance into a seamless guest experience. The lighting design, led by LITELAB Consultants, is at the core of this transformation—shaping emotion, guiding spatial flow, and enhancing the fine artistry of both architecture and cuisine.
Faced with the significant challenges of executing this project remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, LITELAB coordinated a truly global team—from lighting vendors in China to controls specialists in Europe and site teams in the Maldives. Virtual meetings, remote inspections, detailed planning, and adaptive strategies ensured that quality was never compromised, even without a single site visit.
The lighting narrative was developed to serve both functional and emotional needs. As guests arrive, a warm ambient glow sets the tone, welcoming them into a tranquil, refined atmosphere. At the teppanyaki counter, focused luminaires accentuate culinary theatrics without overwhelming the space. The lighting scheme highlights the natural materials—particularly the rich wooden paneling—and ensures that the visual presentation of food and space is elevated.
