About the Project
A home is a feeling — design is merely its medium. Nestled in Bharuch, Gujarat, Tattva is a seventh-floor apartment crafted as a serene sanctuary for a Gujarati couple who desired a space rooted in simplicity, emotion, and authenticity. Spanning 960 sq. ft., this residence redefines minimal living by prioritizing warmth over luxury, essence over excess. Their brief was simple yet profound: “We don’t want fancy; we want a Home.” With this heartfelt clarity, the design evolved with complete creative freedom — aiming to create a haven that nurtures calm, togetherness, and spiritual balance.
Muted tones, natural materials, and handcrafted details form the foundation of Tattva’s aesthetic. The palette — composed of American oak veneer, jute sheets, black metal, back-painted glass, and textured paints — exudes honesty and tactile warmth. Every surface and joinery was carefully detailed to achieve visual continuity, giving the compact layout a sense of openness and fluidity. Subtle lighting adds depth and mood, emphasizing textures while maintaining a soft, inviting glow throughout.
At the heart of the home, a handcrafted wooden jhula suspended on brass chains becomes both an anchor and a symbol — a contemporary nod to Gujarati tradition, inviting moments of reflection, joy, and connection. It bridges nostalgia and modernity, offering a grounding presence within the living space. The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas maintain a seamless rhythm through consistent finishes and balanced proportions, allowing light to travel effortlessly across the home.
The transformation of the third bedroom into a Puja-lounge is a defining gesture — one that celebrates faith and mindfulness. This multifunctional retreat invites introspection and quietude, resonating with the couple’s deeply spiritual lifestyle. Each corner of Tattva speaks softly yet meaningfully — where design does not demand attention but evokes emotion through stillness, balance, and texture.
Tattva is not a project of indulgence but of intent. It celebrates the purity of space, the honesty of materials, and the emotional resonance of a home that truly belongs to its people. Thoughtfully detailed and deeply personal, it embodies timeless simplicity, soulful warmth, and the enduring essence of a life well-lived — a home that breathes, feels, and evolves with its inhabitants.
